Hi.

I have upgradet from 3 5.7 (i think) to 4.8.0.

Now I have 3 problems:

  • Smileys created in the FCKeditor are just showing a red cross
...it works fine inside the editor in editmode, but when saved, the smileys are missing.
I seems that something goes wrong creating the link. The image URL are like this: http://domainname/Portals/24//Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif
Please note the "//" after portal id. IfI remove "portals/24//" then the smiley are shown correct.
  • For some reason my sites are slowing down sometimes.
This has never been an issue before.
  • My DNN eventlog shows a lot of errors (that I do not understand):
    AssemblyVersion: -1
    PortalID: -1
    PortalName:

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1. Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Are there anyone out there that has a clue about what went wrong?

It seems that everything else works fine.

Best regards,
Karsten

Hopefully, you backed up everything so that you can roll back the upgrade.  I would suggest first upgrading from 3.05.07 to 4.03.07.  Then contine upgrading as shown in my blog post:

http://blog.strohlsitedesign.com/Blog/tabid/66/EntryID/102/Default.aspx

Depending on any customizations you have in the web.config or install files, your upgrade should go relatively error-free as long as the steps are followed correctly.  Mitchel Sellers has some great blog posts on upgrading various versions of DNN.
