I have downloaded the entire Install Package and uploaded it via FTP. I change my connection strings accordingly by it is still giving me an error. I loaded all files to rrot directory and ran www.kejosatlanta.com/install.aspx and it came up as an application error.

Any help? I have no clue what to do. Did I install right, is their something else in the web.config file I need to change besides username, password, and MSSQL on both strings?

Thanks

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

That's a pretty generic error - you should change the customerErrors="Off" in your web.config file like the page stated  to get more of a clue as to why.  Just venturing a guess here - you need to change both Connection strings - AND you need to copy over the machineKey  with the validationkey and descriptionkey - otherwise nobody can log in.

Also, hate to state the obvious - but you did change all these values in the release.config file - and saved it as web.config (after creating a backup of your web.config file).

One of the most commonly forgotten steps right here is to check the .Net framework version that the site is using.  You would manage this in IIS, or in your hosting providers control panel.  If you you are using DNN 4.x, then make sure that .Net 2.0 is enabled for your site.
