i am having imense problems trying to upgrade my live portal from 4.05 to 4.08

i have upgraded my test site - which is hosted interanlly with now issues but i am now trying to upgrade my live website

i have managed to kill it more than once and have had to try and restore it

i tried uploading my test website up there with the upgraded DB and this did bring the site back up....but it was still at 4.05

can anyone shed any light on this for me as the ISP's aren't being very helpful

When doing the upgrade to a remote server...I recommend the following process.

1.) Put an app_offline.htm file up to block users from visiting the site
2.) FTP up the files, do it one folder at a time to validate that files transfer successfully.  (IE Admin, then app_code, etc.)
3.) Then merge the old config elements into the new web.config file and upload it
4.) Remove the app_offline.htm file and trigger the upload.

I have a tutorial on my site that walks you through the process.
