 OK,

I upgraded 4.5 to 4.8, had problems with custom modules, so I copied back the backup of the original 4.5 back on top of the 4.8 installation (rather than just deleting it and copying the 4.5 back). Everything works fine except for the HOST SETTINGS page, which throws the following "Ambiguous Namespace" exception. I would naturally think that this is due to a new file/library that has the same namespace definitiion but a different filename (so the copy didn't overwrite it)..

Any thoughts??  (I'd rather not delete the whole structure and restore)

Thanks Sebastian,

Yeah. I did for the original 08 upgrade, but now I've reverted to the previous 05 version (along with the old web.config). I pointed IIS to the backup site folder, and it all works fine, so I can get back to a working state. I was wondering if you could tell me what dll or whatever should be deleted, copied etc.. remember I copied the old folder structure onto the one that had been upgraded to 08.

Hi Matt,

I have exactly the same problem.

Did you manage to resolve this issue?

If so what did you do?

No.. not yet. I haven't really revisited.. but when I go back and try to upgrade our DEV instance again, I'll post any findings that I have..
