Hi,

I am running DNN version 04.08.00 and I am running into a strange issue.  I originally configured the host smtp server settings with my email address for testing.  It is now in a production environment and I switched the SMTP settings under Host Settings along with the Host email address to be admin@domain.com.  Sending a test message works fine.  But when a new user registers the New User Registration email is still being sent from my personal email address.  Same thing with Unregister.  Also interesting to note is that I have a  3rd party forms on other pages that I have an option to send from a user defined email.  If I set to 'admin' email it reverts back to my old host email aka my personal email address so somewhere this is still being stored by DNN.  Any ideas where to hunt this down and change it?  Maybe in the DB itself?  But why is the 'test' emails from host settings working perfectly? Thanks in advance for your help!

Chris

What email address does the administrator account have (log in as admin and check the properties of the account)? I'm guessing that you forgot to change that when you moved the install to your production environment.

Administrative emails are sent as the email account assigned to the administrator account specified under Admin->Site Settings->Advanced Settings->Other Settings while test emails are sent from the email address specified under Host->Host Settings->Host Details. This way if I'm your host (gmss.org) but your site is different (chris.com) emails come from @chris.com instead of @gmss.org (causing your users confusion.
