I downloaded the 4.8.1 starter kit and installed it to a remote server (at DiscoutASP.Net) and connected to a SQL 2005 database. The initial screen came up on a browser and I ran Auto Install. The initial home page came up and I can login using the default host or admin passwords. But although I seem to be logged in, I can't do anything - trying to do anything results in coming back to the same page or default aspx.

Any ideas where to look for the problem? Thanks.

/John

The starter kit is meant for local development. Use the Install package instead.

Thanks. Didn't work. I started from scratch with the Install file, but the result is pretty much the same. Logging in as host I still can't actually do anything. Logging in as admin I can add and change modules, but not pages. When I first logged in as admin it prompted me to change the password, which I did and the new password works, but I can't access my account to change anything further.

I'd appreciate any ideas.

/John

John, you just need a hosting ready for DNN. For example, Dotnetpark web hosting team will install DotNetNuke for you for free. Also you can do it in 2-3 clicks with their control panel. This hosting is made for DotNetNuke. The same thing with PowerDNN hosting and some other DNN hosters. They have different prices etc., but you'll not stuck with DNN installation. Choose the right hoster and save your time and money.
