I'm thinking of upgrading from 4.8.0 to 4.8.2, this would be my second upgrade. What I'm not really sure is of a correct upgrade procedure.

Should I open the  .zip file on a parallel folder and run a windiff sort of command and copy those that are clearly different? that would make upgrading an enormous task or just go ahead and overwrite the files?

your advice is welcome.

Regards,

Rubén

I agree.  How in the hell does one upgrade this thing???  The docs are from 2005 FFS, and don't mention anything helpful about how to upgrade 4.X to another 4.X version.

I appreciate that the dates on the documentation could be updated, but the process for upgrading between versions is the same as it always was i.e. i perform a 4.x to 4.x upgrade the exact same way i performed 2.x and above upgrades. Erik has a few blog's that are worth a read http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1759/Default.aspx and http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1459/Default.aspx
