Trying to complete and installation of 4.8.2 on a Server 2003 box with SP2 and dotnet 3.5 installed.

Note also this was an install based on the 4.8.2 SOURCE CODE download - not the INSTALL download.

When I get to the end of the installation process the site hangs in a loop indefinitely when i click on the
GO TO SITE link on the last page of the installation wizzard.

If I close and reopen the web browser at this stage and point a link to the new site ...
the web browser goes into a loop ...

Doing this on Mozzilla reports that the site is redirecting back on itself indefinitely.

Anyone got any thoughts on this - its as though the friendly url rewriter is screwing up in some way.

Would really appreciate anyones thougths on this.

Westa

I'm having this same problem and I posted the exception I was getting and NOBODY has replied with any help for me. I uninstalled everything and tried with the latest version and same problem.

Since you have the source code, do you also have VS? Try debugging it and tell it to break on any exception. What exception are you getting?

In my case, I'm trying to launch the site, and it's immediately going to the error page and the error page itself is basically erroring out and thus it goes into a loop. Our underlying errors might be different though. I've got some type of security issue. I've given EVERYONE full access to the dotnetnuke directory but I still get the error.

Problem was actually due to some sort of issue in the developer.config file.

So at a guess yours may be a different probelm.

I had the same issue with 4.8.2 source code.  I fixed it by using the Release.Config instead of the Development.Config file.
