I apologize for the cross post but I replied to sa post in extend it where a guy was having the same problem I'm having.  This forum is much more appropriate.

I've gone through the documentation as well.  I've deleted and started my project over 4 times now and I still keep having the same problem with the starter kit released on the 17th.  (I have no other versions installed.)  This is what I get everytime I try to build.

I was able to resolve some of them by adding Imports to some of the pages but as soon as I do, but no where in the documentation does it say to do this or what all the Imports should be..  I'm using visual studio 2005, SQL Server 2000 and the 4.0.3 starter kit.  Thanks in advance.

The "x is not declared" error is described here. This is a problem with VB/VS05, not DNN; however, I do admit that it can be fixed by explicitly importing all namespaces. The real problem is that VS isn't consistent in when it does and doesn't consider this a problem. I've noticed different behaviors with the same, unchanged files numerous times. It's very annoying.

I feel that the Installation Documents were very geared toward those who were upgrading or who were familar with 3.0.  To much of the writing was in the form of "See how this works in 3.0" and some terms are not explained.

4.0, a major release and major accomplishment, should not be short-changed or hampered by an incomplete installation guide that relies on the 3.0 installation guide -- especially since you can copy and paste.

Make 3.0 installation guide; a 4.0 installation guide, and a unpgrade guide that are all stand-alone documents.  It would be very simple.
