Hi All,

This may have been posted many2 times, but I could not find the right solution to this issue.

I managed to install DNN without any issues using IIS and now I am trying to install it using Visual Web Developer Express.

During installation ('Custome' mode), all images are shown as red 'x' across all pages and it gets stuck on the database script installation page. I will include some screenshots later.

Currently, the only work around for this is to choose 'Auto' option on the first installation page (database script is installed successfully, but again all images during installation are still shown as red 'x').

For information, I am running on Vista Ultimate, DNN 4.8.1, SQL Server Express 2005, and Visual Web Developer Express 2008. I tried the same on XP machine and had the same problem.

I will try using Visual Web Developer Express 2005 later and post the result. But for the time being, any thoughts?

Cheers.

Hi aR,

as far as I know, the Auto mode is the best (and only) way to install the Starter Kit using Visual Web Developer or Visual Studio 2008/2005 and SQL Server 2005 with file database.

Hi Dario,

Thanks for the reply.

If thats the case, I think it is still not normal to have all images shown as red 'x'. Screenshots are below:

I tried with VWD 2005 Express and had the same issue.

Any ideas?

Oh and by the way, I am using 'Install Package' not 'Starter Kit'.

Now that you mentioned it, have I been using the wrong package here? Is VWD works only with the Starter Kit?

If you're using VWD you'll probably be better off with the starter kit.
