After about a solid week of trying to get 4.8 installed on Windows Vista Ultimate with SQL 2005 Express on II7, I FINALLY got the install wizard to run. We got all the way through, life was good...and then... when I clicked on that glorious little link that takes me to my brand new DNN website...POWIE...crasheroo.... Here is m error:

Server Error in '/EIGDNN' Application.

No http handler was found for request type 'GET'

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: No http handler was found for request type 'GET'

And this is what is in the URL string:

http://localhost/EIGDNN/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=The+WebResource.axd+handler+must+be+registered+in+the+configuration+to+process+this+request.%0d%0a%0d%0a%3c!--+Web.Config+Configuration+File+--%3e%0d%0a%0d%0a%3cconfiguration%3e%0d%0a++++%3csystem.web%3e%0d%0a++++++++%3chttpHandlers%3e%0d%0a++++++++++++%3cadd+path%3d%22WebResource.axd%22+verb%3d%22GET%22+type%3d%22System.Web.Handlers.AssemblyResourceLoader%22+validate%3d%22True%22+%2f%3e%0d%0a++++++++%3c%2fhttpHandlers%3e%0d%0a++++%3c%2fsystem.web%3e%0d%0a%3c%2fconfiguration%3e&content=0

I am not a .NET guy so I have no idea what this means. In my struggles over the past few days, I've realized that my site directory didn;t have any .aspx mappings so I added them and that is how I got the wizard to run. before that I kept getting the mime type/extension missing error.  I added the WebResource.axd mapping to my dnn app but I am still getting the above error.

Can anyone shed some light?

Sounds like you didn't install ASP.NET support in IIS 7 correctly.

Open IIS 7 Manager, click on website, Advanced Configuration (Advanced Settings), Set Application Pool to Classic.NET ApplPool
