I got iis xp and vs2008 and sql 2k5 standard, I downloaded the starterkit and ranit i can see the install page if I hiut ctrl+f5 on random port but not in the localhost/dotnetnuke, i gave all permissions and everything, just get this error

if I fix that one I get another about object reference blah blah... ohh and if I access though localhost:1164/dotnetnuke using vs then I don't get any pictures?? please help.

If you are not developing new modules. which you aren't or you would understand these errors, don't use the Starter Kit.  Use the Install and intsall on IIS.

okay, to my mind that just doesn't make any flippin sense but I'll give it a go. my goal is to put this on a live server2003 machine and run an actual page will the install download work for that and why would I be able to get something running on a random port but not the regular localhost method, why will it only seem to run in a virtual directoy and not as root site, and why will it access from my intranet but not my ext ip when the alias is the same because I set my host files on internal machines to match the ext domain name?????? I am really confused and frustrated that there are no guides for setting this up on a live system. and all the guides that are around are for way old versions.
