Hi,

Up to this point, setup has been fine:

IIS virtual directory created with proper settings
Permission set correctly on physical directory
Database set up correctly and installer gets past that point without errors

However, when I get to the Run Database Installation Scripts part, this is all that happens:

Clickin the Next button produces the same results and I can't get past this page.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

VH

First, what version of DNN are you installing?

Second, there is clearly something wrong with the installation on SQL Server.  Double check your connection string properties, as well as the permissions of the user specified in SQL Server.  Did you click the check permissions button on the step prior to this one?  I am not sure what all the database check does, but the result would be interesting and have bearing on your problem.

I get the same thing when using visual studio 2005 templates, I have tried local database 2005express, tried 2005 standard database, no luck here. Happens when choosing Custom and Typical. Auto works fine

Tested the website permisions, tested the datadase connectivity, I used the integrated authentication and also the SA account. Tried SQL 2005 standard, and tried 2005Express. Local and remote connections. All tests passed

two tables got created in the database, (I added a prefix object qualifier durring setup) IASB_Version and IASBVERSION also tried with no prefix

It's version 4.8.2, a new install.

I didn't check the permissions button (this time) because I tried that about 5 or 6 times (each time, deleting the database and starting over) before this, and it seems there's a bug where if you do that, it creates the [username]Version table when you do the check permissions, then when you click Next on the same page, the installer fails, stating that the [username]Version table has already been created.

So this time when I installed, I skipped the database check, and it went to the next step without any errors, however I get the results that I posted originally.

But the [username]Version table was created at some point, so the connection must be "ok enough" for DNN to talk to the database and create a table.

Before I tried installing the first time, I read the easy setup guide at http://www.bestwebsites.co.nz/webcontent/bws/easy-dotnetnuke-installation-guide.aspx as it seemed to be more current than the included docs (which have a date of 2005).

Thanks again for any insight.
