I just downloaded and created my DotNetNuke site.  Now I'm a VS newbie but when I try to open up the VS2005, or VS2008 version I get Errors.  Below are the two different errors.  How can I resolve these errors?

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
Package Load Failure

Package 'Visual Studio Data Package' has failed to load properly ( GUID = {E1AA7737-69BE-43D0-A425-E3097651E192} ). Please contact package vendor for assistance. Application restart is recommended, due to possible environment corruption. Would you like to disable loading this package in the future? You may use 'devenv /resetskippkgs' to re-enable package loading.

This isn't an answer to your question, but is a suggestion that I think is useful.

If you want to install DotNetNuke to create a website, you should be using the "install" package and should not even be fussing with Visual Studio  Just download the install package, unzip it to a folder, and create a new IIS website pointed at the folder.  There are lots of good instructions on how to do this.  I recommend that you look at Mitchel Sellers' Blog and look at his latest set of instructions.  I also recommend that -- provided that you are seriously interested in DotNetNuke -- that you subscribe to DNNCreative Magazine, an excellent source of information.

The only reason you'd want to use Visual Studio with DotNetNuke is if you want to start developing custom modules.  As a new user, you shouldn't start that until you are more familiar with DotNetNuke.

Actually, there is another reason to use Visual Studio:  you don't have IIS.  If that's the case, download the install package, then with VS select "open web site" and browse to the directory that holds your installation.  Then start without debugging.  The installation wizard should start and walk you through the process of creating your site.
