Hello

I am struggling a bit here with eaxctly how to edit the web.config file. I have th db name, user, IP address and password and I I know I have to edit the following strings but what do I put where?

    <connectionStrings>
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->
        <add
          name="SiteSqlServer"
          connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
          providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

And

    <appSettings>
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->

is it a Sql Server 2005 Express database, or is it sql server 2005?

it should look something like this (comment out the connections for sql express and add the ones for sql server:

EDIT: this editor really cluges up the code style.

the first goes in the connection string (add name), the add key goesin the appsettings

<add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dnn;pwd=dnnpass;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=dbname or ip;Database=DotNetNukedb;uid=username;pwd=password;" />
