I have upgrade DNN from 3.2.2 to 4.8.2. Not much issue with upgrading and the portal is working.

Except that I could not view some of the folder using File Manager. Physically the folder is there.

I tried Refresh, Synchronize File and even setting Host to Auto-Sync File System but to no avail.

I tried creating a folder, it appears but the next refresh it dissapears from the File Manager. But physically it was created.

How do I get it to show the folder? Help!

did you try a recursive sync? if this did not solve your problem, go into your database, tables folders and look for offending entries with names containing ' or doubled folder paths.

I did all that but still doesn't work.

I did find a solution later.

1.  Copy all the folders and files from the portal\14 to another location. Thus the portal\14 is empty.

2. Delete all the folders and files from portal\14

3. Go to the database and delete all records for the portal\14 in Files, Folders and Permission

4. Synchronize Files with recursive

5. Copied back the folders and files into portal\14

6. Synchronize with recursive and click refresh.

And everything comes back.

Hi Sebastian,

do you have solution for this problem:

I've got a problem with FileManager too. I'm running DNN435, and noticed lately that when trying to move file in File Manager, or upload it, I recieve this error:

" Could not find file \'C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\mysite.com\\httpdocs\\Portals\\0\\karibi.GIF\'  " (karibi.gif is example)

Even if I upload files using FCKEditor (or any other module inside dnn aplication) the recieved message is the same. The file is uploaded, and I can see it in FileManager (it has some weird attributes thou like date: 1.1.1601. 0:00:00 ARHS), but after Sync. there is no way I can reach it from any dnn module (i.e. Documents, UDT, ...). It is only possible to delete that file.

There is evidently extra "\" sign in the beginning, in the middle of the path and at the end of it. How can this happend and is there a solution to apply ?

If I upload file using FTP and Sync it after in File Manager that's OK.

Thanks in advance !

John T.

AFAIR thiere was an issue in an earlier version, though I cannot say for sure, if your really old version was affected. I suggest to upgrade to current version and retry.
