Hi,

I am a developer and using 4.08.02 version of DNN. I did not have any problems in installing DNN just that today I noticed "Host Settings" is not working. The following error comes up:-

Error: Host Settings is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\FriendlyUrls.ascx.vb(44): error BC30560: 'RewriterRuleCollection' is ambiguous in the namespace 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Config'. ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\FriendlyUrls.ascx.vb(44): error BC30560: 'RewriterRuleCollection' is ambiguous in the namespace 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Config'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\FriendlyUrls.ascx.vb(44): error BC30560: 'RewriterRuleCollection' is ambiguous in the namespace

I looked on internet and found a fix that involved removing UrlRewrite DLL and I did that. After that I am receiving the following error:-

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\Authentication.ascx.vb(103): error BC30456: 'InstallURL' is not a member of 'Util'. ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\Authentication.ascx.vb(103): error BC30456: 'InstallURL' is not a member of 'Util'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: E:\DNN\DotNetNuke\Website\admin\Host\Authentication.ascx.vb(103): error BC30456: 'InstallURL' is not a member of 'Util'. at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.PostProcessFoundBuildResult(BuildResult result, Boolean keyFromVPP, VirtualPath virtualPath) at

Kindly help me out in fixing this. It looks to be something wrong with my installation or DNN framework.

Thanks,
Rachit

Did you upgrade from an older version of DNN?

I'd start by removing all the DLLs in the bin folder and reextracting the files from the download from dotnetnuke.com. If you have any custom modules in there don't delete the DLLs for those! You might backup the folder first just in case.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for replying. Bad news is that my problem still exists.

I did not upgrade. I downloaded the latest version and installed it on my machine and then tested it. If I go and build the website project that too throws an error back.
I did a new download today and copied all the DLL's, but that wasn't helpful either.

Do you have any more suggestions to look for?

Thanks,
Rachit

Hi,

I have just done a clean install of 7.08.02 and I am having the same issues. When I click on the "Host Settings" or the "Site Settings" the page takes several minutes to load before timong out and not displaying anything.

Could this be a permissions issue??  if so, where would you suggest I start looking?

Cheers
