Installed 4.8.3 on localhost and can view and edit portal 0. (WinXP Pro, SQL Sever 2005)

My issue is when I add a new portal (via Host | Portals | Add New Portal) and then try to view it I get a 404 error.

Any suggestions?

Steve

Hi Stephen,

Is this a parent or a child portal that you are trying to create?  What is the URL of the 404 request?  Did you receive any errors during portal creation?

The most common issue is a missing portal alias or an alias that isn't what your accessing.  Second most common would be a DNS error.  But a 404 means you got to IIS and it can't find the file, so most likely you're pointing to a site that doesn't actually exist.  Can you post the full error or the IIS log entry for the request?

Jeff
