First of all I am going to apologize for the following WTFs within this post. First of all my company is using DNN 3.2.0 and do not plan on upgrading due to the possible errors that may occur (ain't broke - don't fix). Secondly we are moving our website from inhouse hosting to GoDaddy.com servers (despite my pleadings to use PowerDNN). **Problem** When I browse to our godaddy installation all I get is a webpage with "An error has occurred. An error has occurred.". The URL is Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0 **How I Got Here** So I followed the instructions from http://spencerteck.com/WalkThroughsGuides/DNNGodaddycomRoot/tabid/80/Default.aspx and created the folder permissions and whatnot. After scripting the database (schema and data) I was able to upload the DNN database to GoDaddy. I then browsed to my site and was greeted with the problem shown above. **What I Tried to do to Fix It** referencing the post http://forums.asp.net/p/531099/531259.aspx I looked at my exceptions.xml.resources. This is the content: This did not help me. referencing another post http://forums.asp.net/p/873993/922674.aspx I set the ShowMissingKeys web.config value to true (it was previously false) but this did not help. Any suggestions? Any way that you know of that I can get more detailed error information? All help is appreciated.

Bobby

Can you login as admin (or host) and open "Admin/ Event Viewer". Should be detailed description of the module causes this problem.

If you can't login, thenyou can try to run it with query:

SELECT *
FROM EventLog
ORDER BY LogCreateDate DESC

It should return list of all events.

Thanks Sergey. Using the database error log I was able to find some FileNotFound exceptions. After checking into it I discovered that my Portals directory was basically blank (way to go FTP through IE6). So I downloaded Filezilla and got all of the content that was missing from the Portals directory uploaded. Now my site is working mostly as it should. The menu is a little buggy (JS error) but that may be related to viewing the site through previewdns.com Again thanks.
