Many users cannot access www.laingbuisson.co.uk - it is using DNN

From our office and some users, are able to access.

It may be users network security /privacy /firewall settings but it seems very unstable.

Has anyone any ideas how to find out what the problem is?

Suggestions are needed ASAP.        many thanks, steve

you site is accessible just fine. DNS setup seems ok too. What do you mean if you say that users cannot access? What errors do they get?

Steve

Have just tried http://www.laingbuisson.co.uk/ - "Access denied"

Next time have tried http://laingbuisson.co.uk (without www) and it goes to http://www.laingbuisson.co.uk/Default.aspx and i see error - "The resource cannot be found."

It looks like something wrong with permissions in the IIS. Can you check permissions?

tried both URLs' and they both work without any problem - suggest you check your users firewall settings.

If it's only some users from different locations that cannot access the site. Check with your host to see if they are blocking connections from any ranges of IP addresses (e.g. known spammers/hackers). Also find out what security software the users with problems are using if its the same check with the vendor if they are blocking your website IP for some reason (e.g. previously known to have a site distributing malware).

You can also have the users ping the site using the FQDN and see what the results are.  If the FQDN doesn't resolve then it is a DNS issue either with thier ISP or at your host.  Try the tools at www.dnsstuff.com to help resolve this.  If the FQDN is resolved but no response is given to the ping then there is something happening from a network viewpoint could be firewall somewhere or a misconfigured router.

Basically try and find some common ground the users with problems have that the users with not problems don't

I don't think this is a DNN issue.
