Because of some hosting restrictions, I have to install DNN to a schema other than the dbo. So first I created a schema named 'dnn', then created a database user 'dnn' as a database owner, with default schema 'dnn'. then I changed the DatabaseOwner setting in web.config from 'dbo' to 'dnn'. However when I run the install, during database connection testing, the following error is returned :

Cannot drop the procedure 'dnnGetDatabaseVersion', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.

Any idea what's going wrong here? Thanks a lot!

I've somehow got past the above error, but now it's this :

Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 229
Message: The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'sysobjects', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.

Index #: 1
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 229
Message: The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'sysobjects', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.

Also since I don't permission to write to the dbo schema, is it possible to install DNN entirely in another schema? Thanks

thanks for the reply! I have followed the instructions in the video linked by that post, however there are still tables, views and stored procedures written to the dbo schema. For example dbo.aspnet_Applications, dbo.aspnet_CheckSchemaVersion, etc.

The problem here is that I have no access rights to write anything into the dbo schema. So is there a way to install DNN so that all the tables, views, and stored procedures go to another scheme other than dbo? thanks!

I've searched around some more and it seems I couldn't find any answer. So is it possible to install DNN entirely in another schema without touching dbo at all?
