I am new to DotNetNuke and the whole communiy, so first off I'd like to say hello to everyone.

I just installed just DotNetNuke locally. The install went fine but I am having an issue logging in as the administrator or host. Although my username and password are correct, I never get logged in but instead am redirected back to the origial home page. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone come across this before and if so how did you handle it?

Hello Nicholas

What version of DNN do you use?

We have had the same problem for one our client with DNN 3.1. When login and password are typed and "login" the button has been pressed, then we simple were redirected to the Home page. This problem was with Internet Explorer, but it works ok in FireFox.

Can you try it with FireFox?

Hope it will help.

I use 4.8.3. Unfortunately I do not have Firefox available to me at this time.

Check authentication mode in the Web.config. Make sure it is set to Forms. I had this problem when authentication was set to Windows instead of Forms in the web.config.
