I recently got plesk 8.4 for windows which is supposed to have an easy install of DNN via the application pool.  I have plesk installed but dotnetnuke is not in the application pool, is there some way to add it?  I cannot find directions on doing so.  I am trying it this way due to dificulty with the normal installation.  I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and could offer any advice on how to accomplish it.

I cannot speak to your situation with plesk specifically, but I can tell you how to make sure that your DNN install is in an Application Pool.  First of all, all applications are added to the "default" application pool automatically.  If this is not what you intend, let me know, I and I will place instructions on how to manually add a site or virtual directory to an application pool.

That aside, here is a good link to installing DNN since you found it difficult:

thanks for the help.  Actually I have found the answer.  Here it is for anyone that wants to know.  Plesk has an easy install for dotnetnuke which will configure the installation for you.  When you get plesk it is NOT included in the download.  If you want to use this feature you will have to do to download the application pack from the plesk website.  It is in the utilities section.  Just figured I'd share that in case anyone else is ever looking for it.
