We are trying to install DNN on our server.  Our iis however does not have a default website.  We have several websites located on here each with a unique folder name.  We installed DNN in one of the folders and it will not work.  Does this have something to do with the fact that it is not called default?  Is there something we can change to make it work?

The default website does not matter.  I would create a folder called DNN Website (or whatever) on my C drive (or any other drive), create a new website in IIS and point it to this folder.  From this point forward, you will need to follow the installtion instructions found in the online help docs or from other forum post.

Also, when posting - "It will not work" doesn't give much information for folks to try and help you out. I'm also unsure of wht you mean when you say you "installed in into one of these folders." I would install it into its own folder.

Hope this helps,

Paul

I can't understand what exactly you did before but to install dnn correctly you can follow these steps again: 1- download the latest version of dnn (4.8.4) and be sure that you install its starter kit version. 2- instal the starter kit version by double clicking. then when you open your visual studio - new - website  you will find "dot net web application frame work". be sure you choose the http as a location and then click ok. 3- then you can see a instruction to cotinue the installation. I hope it will work.

regards,

Hooman
