I have recently installed DNN - latest version available (July 17, 08). It runs fine on localhost and able to run sql scripts and install modules.

HOWEVER, in order to access my site from a computer other than localhost, I came to know that I have to add an alias in admin -> site settings. BUT I cannot access admin -> site settings.

When I login as Host, I cannot access either of the settings, admin site settings and host settings. I get an error:

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

BUT note that I can access admin -> site settings when I login as an admin. But not as host. However when I am logged in as admin, I cannot see any place to add an alias.

So, why am I not able to access any settings as a host and get the above redirect error.

Things I have tried: 1. changed trust mode in web.config to Full trust. 2. Reinstalling DNN. 3. Changing dnn installation directory locations.

Thank you!

What happens if you hit the site with Internet Explorer?

When I hit the site with IE, it just does not do anything.

I mean, it the bottom status bar (which shows if the browser is processing the request) starts to fill up as if the page is going to change, it fills up in a while, but then does not go anywhere. And then it starts filling up again. I never get any time out message or anything else.

I am adding to my reply for Mike Horton. The site works find in IE too. EXCEPT for the site settings.

I have detailed the behavior about the site when I try to open the settings in IE in the other post.

Okay, then the next thing I'd look at is the DNN EventViewer and see if there are any errors being written there immediately after you try to get into the Site Settings.
