I copied the Upgrade folder for 4.8.4 over my 4.5.3 installation and now receive the following error.  I didn't back up the db (silly me).  Is there a way to fix this or downgrade back to 4.5.3.  I am not hosting this myself.  Therefore, I do not have access to the db tables.

no, downgrade is not supported, always start with a backup!!

When upgrading from a previous version earlier than 4.6.2, there is no autoupgrade of the web.config, i.e. you need to a) backup your web.config file, b) use release.config from the upgrade package as a template for your new web.config file, copying over

  • both database connection strings (be carefull with all the comments, I suggest to copy the commented entries together with the active ones
  • machine key
  • all code subdirectories
  • down in Sql dataprovider section, database owner and objectqualifier
  • all customizations made by modules

What does this mean?

[TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Services.Scheduling.SchedulingProvider' threw an exception.]
   DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.DBLoggingProvider.AddLog(LogInfo objLogInfo) +238
   DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.LogController.AddLog(LogInfo objLogInfo) +188

the scheduler seems to have problems to add an entry to the schedulehistory table. sounds like either a db login issue or size limit exceeded.
