I am receiving the error below.  I am attempting to install 4.8.4 Source Package on Server 2003, IIS6, VS2008, SQL Server 2005.  Has anyone seen this problem?  Some of my web.config settings:

Are you trying to run the Source?  You can't until you've built the solution and compiled it.  That's what the Install package is for, use it instead.

I'm having trouble with the install too, but I'm sure it's me.  To the point, my reading of the install documents led me to believe the \website folder had a fully functional build of DNN that also had the source code included.

If I do have the build the app before installing that would explain some of the issues I'm having.

Jeff - are you sure? I've always exclusively used the source version (for testing oracle and sql server installs) and never had to compile the application first... - unless something has changed which I'm not aware of..

I use the source version usually as well, and there is no need to compile it before use.  However I do not recall seeing that particular error message before, so I cant shed any light on it sorry.  But I can definately say you do not need to compile the source to use it.
