Hi There,

Anyone knows how to install only dll files in the bin directory of DotNetNuke? I've got modules that share the same code (which is/are classlibrary/'s). I know how to deploy modules and there accompanying dll's through the installer functionality of DotNetNuke. Is there a way, or similar way to do this with just dll's only as well?

Thanks in advance

Pepper

If I understand your question correctly you can simple have a separate zip/install with the shared dll and .dnn file and then just install it when you install the module.  The developer of the Form Creator, Portal Store, etc does just that: http://www.dnn-modules.com/

Hi Robert,

Could you clarify that a little bit more maybe? I've looked at dnn-modules but I can't find any answers there without purchasing the products I think

Basically what they did is create a single DLL that has a bunch of re-usable code/classes and they reference it in each of their projects.  The way they deploy it is a little different than you may think. Normally when You have a shared DLL you would package it up with all the other dll's etc (which you can still do), but instead (for trouble shooting and manageability I am sure) they have the DLL in a separate zip with its own .dnn file, and you upload it individually and it installs like any other DNN install package.

I hope that is more clear.

I'm stupid....

I don't get it, how does this dnn file looks like. I really don't need a folder being created under desktopmodules or something like that, I've just got 10 dll's which have to be deployed in the bin directory of dotnetnuke.

Can Someone show me how?!!

Greetings Pepper
