This is my first experience with a Windows Server.

So, I used the starter installation package and installed dnn to the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\WebSites\DotNetNuke Website2

Im not even sure if it installed into a database? However it will let me make new user accounts? so I guess it did?

I just want to know the best way to get the dnn from where it is now to the website root so that I can access it from just going to the domain name of the site.

IIS? probably, but I dont know how to use it and the documentation on how to configure it didnt really help me.

Detailed answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

Ryan,

please do not use Starter Kit, it is designed for module developers. Use Install version instead, unzip it to the target directory, setup IIS web site pointing to it, adjust permissions for local "Network Service" Account and browse to your site. Follow the install wizard which will guide you through the other steps.
