I downloaded the starter kit version 4.08.04 and am an in the process of setting up the dnn website. I pressed Ctrl F5, and chose auto install. I recieved an error so I went back to typical install. I am now getting an error on the page titled "Configure Database Connection". The error is as follows:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

I have not changed any default settings so I can't figure out why I would be getting this error.

Any help would be appreciated.

The problem has been fixed. I realized that my sql server express edition was not set up properly. I reinstalled it and everything works fine.
