in addition, in the 0.4.09.00.log file,

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

 

I don't understand, my website was acctually work well before.

The problem solved. This caused by one of my modules -- CuteEditor.

If anyone having the same problem, just change to default fckEditor first, do the upgrade, then switch back to CuteEditor. This worked for me.

Ray, I got this error also not sure what it is about but to fixit mainually run the 04.09.00 sql file

Thanks ray.  I have the exact problem when I tried to upgrade from 4.8.4 to 4.9.0.  Thanks to your solution, I can upgrade to 4.9.0 by switching to FCKeditor first.  Hopefully this is a one-time thing and we don't have to switch between CuteEditor and FCKEditor for every upgrade.
