Hello,

Basically, 3 months ago, I did not know that DotNetNuke existed.  So, I am a asp/vb programmer currently transitiong to asp.net/c#, that is trying to get some understanding about DotNetNuke.

I am intending to install DNN on a new web server - that is completely empty.

Some questions:

#1: Can DNN CMS be used on 'some' of the pages within a webserver, while some pages are 'outside' of the CMS?

#2: I recently read something that questioned C#'s ability to work with DNN, is that still the case?

#3: Someone recently sent me a comment that said that 'it is not easy to skin', when compared to other CMS solutions?

#4: Can someone provide a 'general' explanation on the relationship between IIS and DNN, once DNN is installed?

thanks for all of the feedback!

welcome to DotNetNuke.

Regarding your questions:

#1: you may have diffferent web sites on your server, usually DNN is handling a complete site (e.g. www.mydomain.com), but handling subfolders is possible as well by installing in a virtual directory

#2: modules can be created either in vb.Net, C# or any other .net language; however, module templates exist for vb.Net and C# only.

#3: have a look into the skinning guide, if you are familiar with HTML and CSS, you shall be able to create a skin easily

#4: IIS is the web server, managing the web sites. DotNetNuke might be running a web site on IIS.
