Not really sure why this is happening but using the RTE is a nightmare. When I click on the Edit Text link in any module the RTE starts by showing its button bar but then nothing else. The screen stops responding and I have to kill the browser to get my computer working again. Sometimes it partially works but trying to use any of the buttons is a waste of time.

It is the same in this forum trying to post. I have installed DNN 4.9 which I assume is the same version as being used with this forum. I can only assume that it is my browser that is causing the problem IE 7.0.5730.

If I can't get a resolution to this I am going to have to look at some other CMS solution.

I have seen others talking about clearing caches etc... This is a real problem. Help!

Regards,

Chris. in UK.

Chris,

I assume, there is an issue with your browser, clear the cache and make suer, JavaScript is enabled. DotNetNuke used most common Open Source Text Editor "FCKEditor" (see fckeditor.net) without modifications.

Seems to work fine with Firefox mozilla 3.0.3.  Except that in Firefox the browser is continually trying to download data from any DNN sites.  But the rich text editor works fine!

I have cleared the cache on IE and removed google toolbar along with MS desktop search.  Virtually everything else removed including switching off Kaspersky anti virus.  Nothing works.  Where next?
