Hi All,

This is going to sound crazy.  And I am sure I am overlooking something simple.

I installed 4.9 on one of my PCs and everything went well.  I had edited web.config to reference a database I had created in an existing SQL 2005 Express instance running on the PC.

DNN works fine, but in SQL Express 2005 Management Console I do not see any of the DNN tables.  I can see the database I created, but it has no tables.  In DNN I can run "select * from portals" and I get a record.

My assumption is that DNN is running in it's own instance of SQL 2005 Express, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to connect to that instance.

Any ideas what I might be missing?

Thanks,
Dave

Try attaching to the files in the app_data folder inside of your DNN folder.

Thanks for the response.

You are correct.  It was working in file mode, which explains my issue.  I played with my connection string and installed as SQL 2005 instead of Express and now everything is golden.

I knew the data had to be going somewhere, I just could not find it :)
