As I've said before, this is my first website, so please bear with me.  I need to switch my site from one web host to another.  How can I do this without having to start over from scratch?  I don't want to lose anything during the transfer.

Thanks in advance.

Dennis

You will need to first backup the database and files from your existing host. Thereafter, you will need to copy over the web files in the website root folder and restore the database on their SQL Server. Once this is done, you will need to edit your web.config file and update your connection string to new SQL parameters which will be provided by your new provider.

Good luck!

DColey - just a tip disable your old website during the actual migration so no new data is added or changed.
