Hi
I downloaded the formal release DotNetNuke 5.0.0 the day before yesterday and install it today. The OS is Windows 2000 Server, the Database engine is MS SQL 2000 server. I configed everything(I have experience for Dnn 4.8.x.x and 4.9.0.0 installation) and did the typical installation. I configed Database Name as "Dnn_5-0-0_TypicalInstall" and objectQualifier as "tpcl_" The install wizard passed the initial several steps and guided me to the Portal Administrator settings. After I input the portal admin information and click "next", the response page showed the following errors:

Unhandled Error
Error Details
Error   INSERT statement and COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_tpcl_EventLog_tpcl_EventLogTypes' collision. This collision occurred in Database 'Dnn_5-0-0_TypicalInstall', table 'tpcl_EventLogTypes', column 'LogTypeKey'.     This error is also happened in Auto installation if I use MS SQL 2005 Express Database Engine.
What my opinion is my database settings and fold settings should be no problems, because I tested the settings by the wizard link and passed. Otherwise the wizard could not guide me to the Portal Administrator page.  I am not sure what's the problem.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I assume, due to some issue, the eventlogtype table has not been properly polulated, may you please verify, thank you.

Thanks Sebastian

I checked the Database and found that the tables EventLog, EventLogConfig, EventLogTypes are in database with many records. But I found a funy phenomenon that the portals fold got three child portals (Portal 0, Portal 1, Portal 2). Actually the wizard guided me to the Portal Administrator configuration page, and encountered the errors, and then stopped, I could not go further. Then I stopped the installation. How come the more portals to be created? I checked the Database that three records in Portals table and nothing in PortalAlias table.  This may be some exception events happened in the installation procedures. I am not sure what happened in the installation. If you are interested in some records, I can transfer the records to tables to past on the thread post.

Thanks again

Jimmy,

obviously there is an issue with portal creation. I'd suggest to clear the database, delete all files and restart from scratch, thare are a number of possible issues, which are difficult to identify. Make sure, to select at least "Minimal Extasy" skin and container during install, otherwise portal installation will fail.

Hi Sebastian Leupold

Thank you for your response.

I deleted the database and all the files, restart installation from the scratch. I tried twice. At first try, this error occurred again but didn't create more child folds. At last I installed successfully. I installed two instances of Dnn 5.0.0.0, So far the first instance has been running well, but for the second instance, I installed successfully one off and run the site for the first time. But when I run the site second time and call the default.aspx, this error happened again. I suspect if some bugs buried in event process codes or somewhere else. This is just as the reference for the core team.

Thanks again

Jimmy
