This is the error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

And the rest of it: Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Then it goes into Source Error and Stack Trace.  I've been reading the posts, following the instructions, and asking all my tech buddies... no luck.  I need a hand if I'm going to get this thing up and running.  Even my tech buddies don't have a clue.

Can you post what you're trying to do, steps you've already done, your configuration, ...
These are the minimum items you should post to be able to get any assistance. Otherwise it's a bit difficult to imagine your problems.

Are you using Windows authentication or SQL authentication for your SQL instance?

Can you post here the connection strings as they are in the web.config file?

What file version you used to install DNN, install or starter kit?

Do you have IIS installed?

What I'll try to do is to replicate your enviroment and error, then fix it up.  For what I've heard, your problem is related with permissions of the ASPNET user, SQL user, SQL Server authentication... we will see...

Rgds,
