Hi folks

Trying to install V5 Starter Kit in VS2008, I am getting this error right after the first screen of the Wizard (having selected auto):

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 05.00.00

Any suggestions?

What OS are you using?
Try clearing your cookies and cache first in the browser and check AJAX is installed.

Thanks.

Many thanks Alex

That did the trick. For the record I am using Vista Ultimate SP1, VS2008 Professional, ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 (which has AJAX built in) . BUT I had loaded DNN as ASP.Net 2.0 and that doesn't come with AJAX!

I installed AJAX for ASP.NET 2.0, cleared my cookies and cache and all went well.

Thanks again

Kind regards

Geoffrey

It's weird, it only seems that Vista Ultimate users are effected (you would think XP would be as well, but so far no reported) and clearing cache/cookies obviously does the trick (I nicked the solution from another post, I use XP so I have "no hands on" with this issue).

Glad it got sorted.

Hi Alex

The penalties for being at the bleeding edge, eh!

I forgot to mention that I still got the DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll errors that Allan Bredahl mentioned in an earlier post but John Mitchell's workaround move DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll from the /bin/providers to the /bin folder fixed those for me.

Thanks again for your help

Geoffrey
