Hi!

I followed Mitch Sellers guide http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/articletype/articleview/articleid/278/upgrade-to-dotnetnuke-500-from-462-or-later.aspx to detail, yet the update screwed up.So now I have to restore from my backups.

Any ideas how to succeed next time?? Is it just to try again and pray? I see the login page has screwed up for several users too, and read the fix for that. I got my previous upgrades to 4.9.1 (durrent ver) working without problems - just as expected. Now I am doubting the whole dnn...

Would be nice to get some extra tips here - if there are any - for how to succeed.

DNN 5 has a number of changes and still some challenges, if you are looking for a solid base for your web site, I suggest to stay with DNN 4.9.2 atm.

If you want to try the new features, upgrade to 5.0.1, which has a number of issues from 5.0.0 ironed out including a number of upgrade problems.

Cheers from Germany,
