 Hi there im pretty new to .NET and dotnetnuke. I am having the following issue when installing dotnetnuke. I get connection succesfull but when i hit next to go to install it i get the following. Has anyone had this issue? we are using sql server 2005 and it is remote mssql. Also using .net framework 2.0

 I appreciate any help that is given :)

Appearently you have to many connections open to your database server. I would check to see what connections are open and idle (SSMS or Profiler will work). Likely you have an application that is not disposing it's datareader connections.

 please check, that you get a valid connection to the database server, it might be an issue of credentials used or remote connections be allowed by your SQL server.

Hi there the connection is succesfull in the begining of the installation process. now when i go to the site it shows this

Domain Name 24.227.175.87 Does Not Exist In The Database

DotNetNuke supports multiple portals from a single database/codebase. It accomplishes this by converting the URL of the client browser Request to a valid PortalID in the Portals database table. The following steps describe the process:

How can i add the server ip in the db. is it because its a remote mssql and not local?

 add it as additional entry into the PortalAlias table.
