when i install at:

http://localhost/dotnetnuke_source/Install/InstallWizard.aspx

configure database connection step, i got  the following error:

Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 15372
Message: Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user

instance. The connection will be closed.

========================

vista home premium, vs2008, dnn5.0.1 source 

i am appreciated for help.

Obvious question -- Is SQL installed?  Less obvious - Why are you installing the Source version?

thank you for your reply

i think i have installed sql sever 2008 express. and i can run other solution , such as classified app.

i'd like to study the code inside dnn by source version.

Restart SQL Server and see if that solves the problem
