I am running into an issue when performing an update http://<MYWEBSITE>/Install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade I am getting a message that says the upgrade is successful, see below, but when I click on the link to goto mywebsite, I get the following error and the URL I get back is http://<MYWEBSITE>/Default.aspx?tabid=72&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0 with the error display below. I am new to the update process and am just starting to role this out.

Thanks!

I attempted that because I read on a simlar post the suggestion and still no luck. At the top of the web.config fille I added a rem comment ie <!-- FORCERELOAD --> and saved the web.config and still no luck.

I experienced the exact same problem as Chris when upgrading DNN from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1. Resaving the "web.config" file did not help. I will report back if I find a solution.

I have some more clues. Looking through the DNN EventLog table comes up with an entry that includes:

    <LogProperty>

        <PropertyName>Method</PropertyName>

        <PropertyValue>DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.MSAJAX.get_IsInstalled</PropertyValue>

    </LogProperty>

    <LogProperty>

        <PropertyName>StackTrace</PropertyName>

        <PropertyValue />

    </LogProperty>

    <LogProperty>

        <PropertyName>Message</PropertyName>

        <PropertyValue>DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.MSAJAX.get_IsInstalled() at DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.MSAJAX.RegisterStartupScript(Page objPage, String Key, String Script) at DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterStartUpScript(Page objPage, String key, String script) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.InitializePage() at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.OnInit(EventArgs e) at DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---</PropertyValue>

    </LogProperty>

If anyone could give me any hints on what to do next, it would be appreciated.
