Check your log files for the upgrade, my log c:\inetpub\wwwroot\providers\dataproviders\sqldataprovider\05.01.00.log shows the following information:

 System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_DNN_DesktopModules_DNN_Packages". The conflict occurred in database "Website", table "dbo.DNN_Packages", column 'PackageID'.

   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
   at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL)

/**********************************************/

ALTER TABLE dbo.DNN_DesktopModules
 ADD CONSTRAINT FK_DNN_DesktopModules_DNN_Packages FOREIGN KEY ( PackageID ) REFERENCES dbo.DNN_Packages ( PackageID ) ON UPDATE  CASCADE  ON DELETE  CASCADE

I am getting the same errors, and do not have any content on my pages now.  The containers are there, but it can refernce the correct object to log in.

Hosting system:
Windows Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2008 Enterprise

Thanks,
Dino

The error you are getting is the same one that I get when i delete the database to resetup the site.  You need to take a look at the connection stringsunder your server settings.  The SQL refernce for the connection  is not pointing to a database that exists.  If you change the settings it will take care of the error.

If you need i can send you screen shots of what mine looks like.
