I installed the Database.mdf just fine on my local machine (Windows Vista 32-bit), but when I installed the same version (latest of 5 - install) on my server running Windows Web Server 2008, I get an error:

Installing Database - Version 5.0.0...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'dbo.UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist.

The installation just hangs right there.  The "test connection" worked fine.

I have checked the user permissions, but am not sure what DNN needs.  I gave the "NT AUTHORITY \ NETWORK SERVICE" the "dbo" access to the DNN.mdf (renamed it) database.

Any ideas?

please be aware to use either database connection (using database name) or file based connection (using database.mdf in your connectionstring). In the second file you cannot attach the file as database or modify specific SQL server permissions or even open the file using Management studio.
