I am haveing a similar issue, and now have a longer url than the sites name is, now I am trying to find a way to set the alias so that the site can be typed in as normal and then it display as needed. I posted in the moderated forum so that hopefully one of the techs can help with the issue, but am posting here as a backup.

The websites url should look like this to type in: http://acworth.ws , then it should hop the default.aspx out when clicking or typing in the domain name, but it doesn't, my other sites which I use html for, all work as expected, but this one doesn't, the way to get to it is you have to type in a whole lotta letters to get to the site like this: http://acworth.ws/dotnetnuke/default.aspx , now that is a mouthful of typing to just to get to a site with a simple name. I hope someone from the team can help out, and/ or someone here as well.

Thanks for hearing this issue, and hope someone can help.

Thanks

Vulcan

if you install DotNetNuke in root of the website (instead of a virtual directory), you can skip /dotnetnuke/

if you assign default.aspx as default document for your website, you don't have to type it.

I tried that and it failed to work, So does that means I have to uninstall the site and reinstall it fresh again? Or what? Any help will be appreciated.
