Hi!

I am reinstalling DNN after deleting it from my PC and created new database. I changed Install package to Source 4.9.4.
I have IIS 5.1 and .NET Framework 2.0.

After configuring the earlier steps with "Easy DotNetNuke Installation Guide" , I am in the phase where I try to open http://localhost/Database/Website/default.aspx,

but this error situation comes up:

Server Error in '\Database' Application

Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

Source Error:

Line 87: <system.web>
Line 88: <!-- Ensure validationkey is not set to AutoGenerate,IsolateApps so it correctly supports webfarms -->
Line 89: <machineKey
Line 90: validationKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps"
Line 91: decryptionKey="F9D1A2D3E1D3E2F7B3D9F90FF3965ABDAC304902F8D923AC"

Source File: C:\DotNetNuke\website\web.config    Line: 89

What I´ve made wrong and if the reason is IIS what should I do?
I checked the IIS settings a minute ago.

make sure, there is one AND ONLY ONE web.config file in your Dotnetnuke installation directory tree, placed in the root of the web site or virtual directory.

I checked and there's only one web.config -file in C:\DotNetNuke\Website -folder. This same error message comes still up. What else could I check?

make sure, the IIS web site is pointing to the directory, where web.config file resides.

Finally I succeeded in installing Source package, after changing the IIS settings to: .../Website.

I faced also problems in Database configuration phase, but after rewriting one line in web.config (no pw:s and User Id:s), connecting to db succeeded also.
