I've seen other posts and searched the internet but have not found an ACTUAL solution to this problem:

Security Exception

Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

The site installed and worked fine until the session timed out. I'm using the Helm control panel and have installed under 2003 Server many times with no problem.

Here's what I'm running:

Windows 2008 Server Standard 64-bit.
Helm 4.1.1 Control Panel.
IIS 7
Currently set at Medium Trust, (Did not work under full trust either.)
SQL 2005 on separate server (connected to web server via switch. Helm has no problem accessing it. I ran DNN installer no problem.)

So why does it no longer work? Does anyone have an actual working set up on IIS7?

Since I had to fix this, I have relentlessly worked at it. It's seems to work with the 4.9.4 install for now.

  1. Restored to Full-Trust.
  2. Created an Isolated Application Pool instead of using the default application pool.
  3. Running Application Pool in Integrated mode.
  4. Right-click on the application pool you are using and choose "Advanced Settings.."
  5. Set the option for "Load User Profile" to True.

Load User Profile is an interesting option. It states, "This setting specifies whether IIS loads a user profile for an application pool identity. When this value is true, IIS loads the user profile for the application pool identity. Set this value to false when you require IIS 6.0 behavior of not loading the user profile for the application pool identity."

It is set to false by default.
