Hello,

I followed the instructions to upgrade my 4.8 DNN site to 4.9.4. Copied settings into release.config, renamed it to web.config, and copied the upgrade package to teh site.

Then I accessed the root portal's home page, and it ran through the installation. The installation process showed that each step completed successfully.

When I try to access my root portal's home page with FireFox, I get an error: "Redirect Loop"

If I try to access the page in IE7, it shows the page repeatedly loading something (In the status bar), but the page never shows up.

Help!

Some more info:

Only the root portal's page is getting this error. The child portals all seem to work fine. Wierd.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm seeing this behavior on one of my portals, but this is the strange part.   It will only exhibit itself on the alias without the www subdomain.  If you reference the portal using just the domain name it will have the redirect loop.  However if you reference the portal using the alias with the www subdomain added the site works perfectly.

This is really odd and have tried all the suggestions for fixing it and with zero results.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

 

I've solved this by changing in web.config all occurencies of

Version=1.0.61025.0

to:

Version=3.5.0.0

this solved the redirect loop, bu i'm stiil not able to login

in that fresh installation.

Please let me know if it works for you
