Hi all, I hope someone can help with this:

I upgraded a 4.3.x installation to 4.9.4 over the weekend. The upgrade seemed to go well, I didn't see any errors and the portal came up OK.... with the following oddities:

General module edit menus have icons, but no text. The menu items for the specific module (like edit text for the text/HTML module) do have text, but other menu items (like move module) only have icons. Coudl this be a resource issue?

Privacy statement and terms have no text. I tried copying the text from an older portal, but the tokens are not being replaced by the proper text.

I get exceptions thrown when trying to log out. Partial exception text is System.Exception: Error seeking country: System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown. at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.CountryLookup.SeekCountry(Int32& Offset, Int64& Ipnum, Int16& Depth)

Does anyone have any thoughts? Are any of these known issues? Should I just try to re-upload the files and see what happens?

Thanks in advance!

When I have an "odd" upgrade it is usually because some of the files were set to read only. To fix it I always do the upgrade again but make sure I right-click on the directory and unset the "read only" attribute (you may have to have your hoster do this for you).

Thanks for the reply. That is an interesting idea. I did find 0-length image files which I replaced. I also looked at the resx source for the privacy and terms controls. They have no default text in the version I DL'd from DNN's site.

Thanks,

Dave

in the downloaded resource files, there are default texts for tems of use and privacy statement, I assume, there is an issue with either unzip or uploading the files.
