Hi;

I’m going to do a fresh DNN installation on my clean production server:
·         OS of my server: Windows Server 2003
·         DNN version that I’ll use:    4.9.4
·         There is a plan to extend/Develop some of DNN modules
·         The required website will be in English (Left to right languages) and Arabic (right to left language)
My questions:
·         As I’m going to develop some modules in the future on the (development machines) and then deploy them to the (production server), this “doesn’t” mean that I need to install the (Source) package of DNN on the (production server)… The package that I need to use on the production server is (install) package ..right?
 
·         For the DB collation and as I need the website to be in Arabic and English, to which value I have to set the collation?
 
·         Any recommendation regarding the DNN installation as I'm going to do this for the first time and on clear server (as fresh installation)
 
Thanks in advance for any help…

  • for security reasons, production server shall run installation package. to transfer your modules, package and install on production.
  • Collation of database needs to be General_Latin_CI_AS, further sorting will be done in the application
  • anything else shall be straight forward, there are installation documents at www.mitchelsellers.com.
